Ivory Coast customer becomes distributor

An internet search for a high-speed spot UV varnish solution not only led to the sale of an MS80A with dryer and stacker, but also to the appointment of a new distributor…in Ivory Coast, West Africa.

Georges Abou-Jamra of Graphicolor had been on the hunt for the best way to apply a spot UV varnish for over three months before he came upon the Sakurai UK website. A quick browse around the site led to a ‘phone conversation with Sakurai UK’s General Manager, David Ryan, and from that point on the deal quickly developed.

Explained Georges: “The assistance provided by David was crucial in us choosing the best option. We soon decided on a Sakurai Maestro MS 80A line. This line is equipped with Natgraph IR lamp and Cold UV dryer. As a recommended option we have also now added a two metre refrigeration module.

“The line was installed in May 2014 and we received a very high level training thanks to the Sakurai engineer, Rob. The line is very easy to operate and gives an amazing quality for UV coating and UV screen printing on a very wide range of media. We are completely satisfied.”

So impressed were Graphicolor with the technology that they have now agreed to fly the Sakurai flag in West and Central Africa leads. The MS80A is the first professional line in this region, and Georges and his team are confident that this will help convince screen printers and offset printers to acquire the state-of-the-art equipment.
